‘Fast Brain Thinking and Slow Brain Thinking’ is essential to understanding how to help people respond positively to change. According to Daniel Kahneman, the Nobel Prize winning economist, key to success is finding ways to engage our Slow Brain Thinking to work on change. For instance, through group dialogue sessions where people take time out to consider the challenges of change and devise solutions that work out best for all concerned. This takes time and effort but delivers more productive responses and greater ownership for change.
In addition, if we help people gain insight into Slow Brain Thinking and Fast Brain Thinking they can take control of their emotional responses to become more adept at change, gaining an invaluable life skill.
Daniel Kahneman who sadly passed away on 27th March 2024 was the first economist to win a Nobel Prize for Psychology for his insights into human behaviour and ability to communicate them to a non-academic audience.
